You never know what you’re going to find when you go digging around in your old filing cabinets. Especially John Houser’s (LA Rams, Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Cardinals 1957 – 1963) old filing cabinets! We received a comment to the previous post from John earlier:

Well, lookie here! See what I found in the deep, dark catacombs of my filing cabinet. It’s a copy of the first attempt to form an NFL Retired Players Association …and look at the 3rd paragraph, page 1 – to wit…

“The purpose of the new organization are many. Most significantly, the retired players now have a vote on the pension board which consists of two owners and two players, etc. This marks the first time that we have had equal representation on the committee which has complete authority to administer, amend, and regulate the pension plan,” and more etc., etc.

All of the presentations from our Conference were streamed live on Ustream and also recorded for editing. We’re currently working on editing all of the videos and enhancing the sound quality.
