I bet I had as many as 200 concussions over the course of my NFL career because they didn’t count falling on Astroturf as a concussion. The Astroturf was only a quarter-inch of green decorative plastic to cover the concrete or asphalt stadium floor …

    my husband, mike, played for the steelers for 9 years. To make a long story short, he had a seizure in ’94. Within 6 hours he showed signs of depression, memory loss, and constant fatigue. Tests revealed that mike had post- concussion syndrome
    from “too many hits to the head”. That was 20 years ago and he still has many football-related problems which have seriously affected his (and my) life. I wrote to Roger Goodell twice and told him what had happened. That was in 1995. Of course, and for years, money and denial ruled the “C” word until it couldn’t be denied any longer. billions of dollars are rolling in to the NFL while former players suffer or have died.
