bad lawyerHow timely. This article just came out in the New York Times yesterday. In all too many cases, you merely have to change the names of the lawyers and it all ends up the same story. We had to post this up to remind everyone to Opt Out NOW!

When Lawyers Cut Their Clients Out of the Deal

By

.

WASHINGTON — “We always knew this settlement would get a tremendous amount of attention,” Scott A. Kamber told the federal appeals court in San Francisco a couple of years ago.

.

He was defending a novel bargain he had struck with Facebook on behalf of millions of users whose privacy he said the company had violated. The settlement’s central innovation was to cut Mr. Kamber’s clients out of the deal.

.

The class members would get nothing. The plaintiffs’ lawyers would get about $2.3 million. Facebook would make a roughly $6.5 million payment — to a new foundation it would partly control.

All these true events are taking place in what country? Sounds like the 90 percent are getting hammered by a non-Democracy? Anarchy is around the corner? What country was it that used to have a ‘for the people by the people’ motto? There was a country once that protected its citizens, now it eats them alive. Kind of like a Spider does to anything in its web.

    Dear Dave,

pleases inform Bob Stein that I approve of the settlement. I am opting ‘IN’. Period. I approve of the Charities getting the money. Ten I won’t have to pay taxes on that settlement. Bob Stein: I received and did read your email. Thanks for informing me of my options. Gee – I hope this helps Mike Ditka and Gridiron Greats Charity; he deserves all the help he can get and so do you, Dave Pear. You guys help your former teammates without an application that a lawyer can’t understand.

Oh yes – I am opting definitely ( IN ) for the fantastic NFL Films Settlement. ;-)

    Sincerely,
