Announcing Our Second Annual Conference

Mar 4, 2012

Second Annual Independent Football Veterans Conference

At last, we’re finally ready to announce our Second Annual Independent Football Veterans Conference! A lot of you have been calling and writing about our Conference and we thank everyone for their patience.
.
We’ll be meeting once again in Las Vegas at the South Point Resort & Casino April 20 – 22, 2012. This year, we’ll be using a panel-style approach to cover a wide range of important topics ranging from the most recent information on lawsuits, your benefits, as well as more of the latest information on brain health and concussions. Other hot topics open for discussion will include The Legacy Fund, widows’ benefits (or the lack thereof), severance pay, Workers Compensation and Retirees’ Rights among other hot topics! We also have some social events planned for Friday and Saturday evening that will allow our attendees to catch up on their playing days with their teammates. We already have a dinner sponsored for our attendees scheduled for Saturday evening.
.

We’ll be kicking off our Conference off on Friday morning with several legal panels comprised of some of the most experienced legal minds on professional football, disability, pensions, Unions and more. Each panel of experts will start off with some discussion on specific topics of interest to all retired players and their families and then the floor will be open to discussion, as well as question-and-answer sessions. On Saturday, we’ll be taking the same approach, with medical and neurological experts discussing their latest findings on post-career issues with a strong focus on the long-term effects of concussions and some of the most recent treatments and care. We’ll be posting more details on the discussions along with biographies of all the panelists over the next week.
.
The Conference is open at no admission cost to all retired football players (and their families) by simply registering to attend. Media and other guests are limited and by invitation only – click HERE to contact us.

When discussing the Legacy Benefits for widows, would someone please be sure to ask why widows and orphans are being discriminated against? The answer to this question should be interesting.

    Dave,

Thanks for inviting us to attend the Second Annual Conference! Sounds like a good time to be had. The price is affordable but my health will not allow me to leave Florida. If you ever come to Orlando Florida, we will be sure to attend!

    Dear Henrietta,

In my humble opinion, widows and orphans should have been the FIRST to receive this benefit!

The only reason (which is not a valid reason) I can think of as to why widows and orphans are discriminated against by the NFL/NFLPA is simply because they have the power to be a bully and by their actions they have proven to be who they really are.

And it’s ruthless that they prey on the family members (of retired players) who can least defend themselves and have been left in a lurch to fend for themselves.

This is the real NFL (Not For Long) or (National Hypocrite League – sorry NHL).

    Sincerely,
    Dave & Heidi Pear
