    Dear Commissioner Goodell,

Do you agree with Rep. Maxine Waters?

“When Goodell said that talks between owners and players are in the early stages, Waters said it’s time “for Congress to take a look at your antitrust exemption” and that she thinks it should be removed.”

    Sincerely,
    Dave & Heidi Pear

    Dave,

I agree Congress should be looking at removing the NFL’s anti-trust exemption if immediate and substantive action by the NFL on player head injuries and player disability payments is not forthcoming. The anti-trust exemption affords the NFL obvious advantages other businesses do not enjoy, resulting in greater profitability. As such, the NFL is obliged to treat its labor force (the players, current and retired) as more than an expense figure to be reckoned with on their bottom line.
